This policy explains what personal data Epigenesis Edu Private Limited collects through https://app.epigenesisedu.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We collect the minimum we need to teach you, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.
1. What we collect
When you book a demo class
- Name, mobile number, email address and city.
- The track, board, class and chapter or topic you select, and any note you choose to add.
- For institutional enquiries: institution name, your role and target submission timeline.
When you enrol and pay
- Attendance, class schedule and assessment records created in the course of teaching you.
- Payment confirmation details from our gateway. We never see or store your full card number, UPI PIN, CVV or net-banking credentials — those go directly to the gateway.
Automatically
- Standard server logs, including IP address and browser type, kept for security and to keep the site working.
2. Why we use it
- To confirm your slot and send you the joining link.
- To teach you, track progress and give you a written diagnosis after the demo.
- To raise invoices, take payment and meet our accounting and tax obligations.
- To answer your questions and, where you have asked us to, tell you about programmes.
We rely on your consent for marketing messages, on performance of our contract with you for teaching and billing, and on our legal obligations for financial records.
3. Students under 18
Much of our teaching is for school students. Where the student is a child, the booking must be made by a parent or legal guardian, and we treat that adult as the person whose consent governs the child’s data. We do not knowingly collect a child’s personal data without that consent, we do not use it for behavioural advertising or tracking, and we collect only what is needed to teach the child. A parent or guardian may ask us at any time to show, correct or delete their child’s data.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers who help us deliver the service, and only as much as they need:
- Our payment gateway, to process fees.
- Our email and video-conferencing providers, to send confirmations and run classes.
- Our accountant and auditors, and any authority we are legally required to disclose to.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.
5. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to enrolment: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Student records: for the duration of enrolment and up to three years afterwards, so we can answer questions about past teaching.
- Invoices and financial records: for the period Indian tax law requires.
6. How we protect it
The site is served only over HTTPS. Access to student records is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects you we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
7. Your rights
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete data we no longer need to keep.
- Withdraw consent for marketing at any time — this does not affect your classes.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights if you are unable to.
Write to epigenesisedu@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
8. Cookies
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Any storage used is limited to keeping the page working while you are on it.
9. Changes
We will update this page if our practices change, and revise the date at the top.
